A teen was arrested in Oranmore, Galway, after Gardai discovered €42k worth of cocaine during a raid.
The cocaine weighed about 600 grams. Cops released the teen later without charging him, as they are still investigating the situation. Gardaí said they are targeting drug sales in the area; they did seize that cocaine in Oranmore.
The unit searched a house in Oranmore, finding and grabbing the drugs. The drugs will go to Forensic Science Ireland for testing. The teen was held under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act.
Also, last week, gardai seized cannabis and cash near Tuam. They grabbed over €10,000 in cash too and arrested a man, but released him later. This happened in the Ballyglunin area.
The cops raided a house, discovering cannabis and a hidden “bunker” under a shed. The bunker held growing cannabis plants. Gardaí said they target drug sales, with this seizure totaling about €40,000 worth of cannabis.
Cops found about €32,500 in cannabis herb. The bunker held ten cannabis plants worth about €8,000, plus €11,000 in cash. The man was held, then released, and they will send a file to the prosecutor. The drugs will be analyzed.
