Demolition of the former BHS building at Freshney Place to begin in March. Big investment for Grimsby town center’s future!

Demolition of that market is happening this summer. The old BHS building will be torn down soon too. Work should start in early March. Fences are up for safety. Victoria Street will also have fences. It stretches from Devonshire House to the old Fraser store.
The Flottergate Mall entrance is now closed. The market’s roof car park closed on February 17. The main entrances at Riverhead Square stay open. Brewery Street’s entrance also remains open.
Officials promised to start work in 2025. They believe this investment is good for the town. Other groups are investing in Grimsby’s future too. Onside is building a Youth Zone. Keepmoat will build new homes.
This project is key to the town center’s future. It secures jobs at Freshney Place. Parkway Cinema will open a new five-screen cinema. There will also be a food hall here. The old BHS site will become the new market.
GMI Construction Group leads the building work. They have worked on similar projects before. They aim to make Freshney Place a lively spot. Parkway Cinemas is excited for the real project start.
