A fox got stuck in some trash. It happened in a garden behind a house. The RSPCA rescued the fox. They want people to know litter hurts animals.

The fox was tangled in metal wire mixed with other junk. Someone dumping the trash caused the problem. A homeowner found the trapped fox on a pile of rubbish about chest high. Some builders probably left it there.

Nicola Thomas from the RSPCA arrived on February 12 to help. She said the fox was really stuck. The fox’s leg was caught in wire covered in plastic from an old clothes rack. The fox struggled and made it worse.

The metal cable was tough to cut. Nicola’s wire cutters struggled too. She worried because the fox’s head was down in a hole. The position added pressure to its leg.

She lifted its head with a tool and finally cut the cable. She took the fox to a hospital, leaving some wire on its leg for the vet to remove. Nicola reminded people about trash dangers and urged them to dispose of litter carefully and recycle if possible.

The RSPCA sees many animals hurt by litter. Carrie Stones manages anti-litter work and said the RSPCA deals with many cases. Animals suffer each year due to preventable litter issues. Cans, bottles, and wire are dangerous.

Plastic items and vapes also hurt animals. Foxes, hedgehogs, and deer are at risk. Animals eat or get tangled in litter, leading to injury and even death. Many animals suffer unseen, and we only help some of them. Others might die because no one knows.

The Great British Spring Clean is coming soon to teach people to avoid littering. The public can protect animals by helping clean. Carrie asked people to get involved and join Keep Britain Tidy’s event from March 21 to April 6. People can pledge to collect litter. Last year, they collected over 425,000 bags of rubbish.
