Flambards auction features Victorian Village, war artifacts & more. Items from closed park available at Lay’s Auctioneers.

The auction is at Lay’s Auctioneers in Penzance. It spans four days, from March 25th to 28th. You can buy items from the Victorian Village. “Britain in the Blitz” and War Galleries are also included. A Concorde and Avro Shackleton cockpit are for sale too.
The Victorian Village was Flambards’ highlight. It was a detailed recreation of a Victorian town. Audrey Hale carefully created every detail. She included authentic shops and everyday items.
“Britain in the Blitz” shows a pub and bombed street. There’s a Concorde cockpit with crew inside. They also have a Shackleton cockpit. The displays include many war artifacts.
Lay’s Auctioneers calls this “extraordinary”. It lets collectors and the public buy memorabilia. It is a chance to own a piece of the iconic park.
David Lay said it is more than just parts. He said walking through Flambards felt like a past era. Audrey Hale used rare, original items for the village. Cataloging the collection was both enriching and sad.
The auctioned items will improve or create new collections. The auction includes the Birch & Co. shop and its contents, including cabinets and displays. This shop was once in London. A similar shopfront is in a museum. Prices range from £30 to £10,000.
A Shand Mason fire engine will also be auctioned. It comes from Cliveden. This is a 19th-century horse-drawn engine and includes a coal cart. Estimates range from £15,000 to £25,000.
You can view the items before the auction. Viewings occur from March 22nd to 24th, from 10 AM to 4 PM. You need a pre-purchased £10 ticket.
The auction happens online and at Lay’s. It runs from March 25th to 27th. It starts at 10 AM each day.
