Someone died at Hunts Cross Station. A train hit the person. This happened around midday yesterday. British Transport Police went to the station and began investigating.

Merseyrail announced service changes as a result of the incident. Trains to Hunts Cross and Ormskirk were affected. Trains stopped at Liverpool South Parkway, and buses replaced trains to Hunts Cross to accommodate passengers.

Arriva North West buses also changed routes. Service 81, 81A, and 89 detoured due to a police incident in the area that required road closures.

Police cars, fire engines, and ambulances arrived at the scene. Speke Road was closed to vehicles, though the shops on Speke Road remained open for business.

British Transport Police released a statement today regarding the incident. They were called to the station at 12:02 pm after receiving reports of someone on the tracks.

Paramedics arrived, but sadly, the person died at the scene. The police do not suspect foul play in connection with the death, and they are preparing a report for the coroner.

A man on Speke Road heard about the incident and shared his reaction. He was planning to travel to Southport by train and expressed sadness upon hearing the news. A woman at the scene also commented, saying she felt sorry for everyone involved. She especially felt bad for the train driver.
