A person died after being hit by a train in Lancashire, causing service cancellations and delays.

Merseyrail had to make changes. Trains on the Ormskirk lines faced delays, and some trains were also canceled. A train hitting someone caused this, resulting in services beginning and ending early at Parkway. Buses replaced trains to Hunts Cross.
Arriva North West buses changed routes too. Service numbers 81, 81A, and 89 had detours via Kings Drive and other roads. This was due to a police matter.
Police cars, ambulances, and fire engines went there. Ashton Drive to Kingsmead Drive closed to cars. Shops on Speke Road stayed open and were not affected.
British Transport Police gave a statement that they arrived at the station at 12:02 p.m. after reports said someone was hurt on the tracks. Paramedics also went to the scene.
Sadly, the person died at the scene. The police do not think it was suspicious and are preparing documents for a coroner. A man on Speke Road felt sad, and a woman there also felt sorry for the driver.
