Residents fear for their safety after a fatal crash in Birmingham. Action is urged to prevent more accidents.

Locals say they often hear fast cars there. Some even had cars crash onto their property. People fear walking with their backs to the road; they need to be ready to dodge speeding cars.
Councillor Timothy Huxtable wants speed cameras installed and is pushing for other changes to slow cars. He gave the council a petition in 2023, signed by many worried locals, asking for the cameras to be installed.
Transport experts studied the road and suggested safety changes in late 2022 or early 2023. Due to money problems, the council did nothing. Huxtable warned of an accident, saying the council did not listen to his concerns.
Huxtable contacted city and regional officials, wanting them to take urgent action now. This action is meant to stop more tragedies. Police arrested two men, ages 18 and 19, suspecting them of causing death by dangerous driving.
