A woman died in a bad car crash in Co Tyrone on Thursday evening. Three other people suffered serious injuries, including a child, who were all taken to the hospital.

The crash involved two cars, a Ford Ka and a Nissan Note, which collided on Old Loughrey Road in Cookstown around 5 PM on February 20. Many emergency workers responded quickly, including paramedics, ambulance crews, and a special air ambulance with a HEMS crew aboard.

Both male drivers and the young child were transported to the hospital with serious injuries. The child was traveling in the Nissan.

Police confirmed the woman’s death, which was a result of the crash that primarily occurred on the Dungannon-Cookstown Road between the Ford Ka and Nissan Note near Old Loughrey Road. The collision occurred just before 5 PM, and the woman, a passenger in the Ka, sadly died at the scene.

Police are investigating the crash and asking witnesses to come forward. People are urged to call 101 and mention reference number 1299 20/02/25 or share information online by providing any helpful footage from the area to the police.
