Jade needs £29000 to bring her partner from Thailand back to Aintree and reunite her family.

The family split up earlier this year after deciding to move back to Aintree to be closer to Jade’s parents. Thanawut’s visitor visa expired after six months, forcing him to return to Thailand. Jade needs to earn £29,000 for a family visa to support the four of them, which she says is impossible right now as she cares for their children alone. The family might not live together for years, something she thinks breaks her children’s hearts.
Jade traveled when she was nineteen years old and met Thanawut in a restaurant one evening. She loved the country and then him, staying there longer because of this. Jade went to university and taught, they had a great time living there, enjoying their life together.
Jade had their first child after eighteen months, and two years later, Luca was born. They had the best time as a family before Jade wanted to go back to the UK. In July 2024, they moved to Aintree so she could be near her family.
Jade says she felt lonely after the kids came, and her social life changed a lot. They moved in with Jade’s mom, and Thanawut’s visa ended on January 1, 2025, forcing him to go back to Thailand. They met five years ago in Thailand.
The law says they need a £29,000 income for a family visa. Jade says Thanawut is stuck, and they do not know when they will reunite. The Home Office has rules for family visas and usually requires proof of a £29,000 income, a minimum income requirement.
The Home Office says some can still apply and extend their UK stay if certain things happen: if a child is British or lived here for seven years, if it’s unreasonable for them to leave, or if human rights are breached.
Jade says her family is separated now, and they don’t know when they will be back. She must earn twenty-nine thousand pounds to prove she can support him. As a single parent, it is very hard to earn that much while caring for young children every day.
They are now at Jade’s mom’s house because they cannot afford to move anywhere else. Her mom helps them with childcare in what has been an awful and exhausting situation for Jade, who works and does everything by herself. They are trying to survive, barely, while paying nursery fees as well. She depends on her mom for a lot; they cannot live like this for much longer.
They are just surviving right now, and Jade only wants her family back. She feels very guilty because she isn’t happy, which is unfair. Her eldest turned three recently and asks every day for his dad. Jade can’t explain what is happening and does not know when he’ll return. He keeps asking when he can see his dad.
He sees a plane which makes him excited, points and says, “Daddy, daddy!” It’s heartbreaking and so upsetting for Thanawut, who wants to be here for them and finds it devastating to be away. He calls ten times daily now, and they are all struggling a lot. Jade hopes for their dad to come back. The Echo reached out to the Home Office asking for a statement.
