Riley Bains, 9, lost his battle with cancer. His family is planning a superhero-themed funeral to honor his courage.

Riley’s story touched many hearts. Ryan Reynolds, a famous actor, knew him. The funeral is on Tuesday, February 25th, and a local charity is paying for it.
His uncle, Stephen Picton, plans the wake, which will be at the Steelworks Club in Hartlepool. Riley had a fantastic superhero party there, and many people dressed up then.
Stephen wants everyone to remember Riley and show how much love people had. He misses Riley very much already; Riley’s smile made others smile too.
People are donating to give Riley a great send-off. The family asks for donations to the RVI hospital to support wards four and fourteen. It’s meant to be a superhero farewell.
Riley had osteosarcoma, a bone cancer, which caused his leg to need amputation. Fundraising helped him visit Disneyland and have the superhero party.
Ryan Reynolds met Riley at Wrexham FC. Sadly, his cancer returned later, appearing in his shoulders, ribs, lungs, and nodes. The news was terminal last June.
The funeral is at Stranton Grange Crematorium Chapel, starting at 11 AM on February 25th. People are asked to wear something orange, his favorite color, with the wake following at the Steelworks Club.
