Mohammed Banaris, 56, died in a crash on Stratford Road. His family mourns his loss, highlighting his kindness.

His family shared a tribute, calling him their “rock,” “guide,” and “biggest supporter.”
Mr. Banaris was 56 years old when a BMW hit his Honda car as he was pulling out of Beechcroft Avenue onto Stratford Road. Paramedics tried to help him, but sadly, he died at the scene.
He was married with three sons and was awaiting the birth of his second grandchild.
He worked at a steel factory on Sydenham Road, Sparkbrook, for 35 years. The factory closed as a sign of respect. He prayed daily at Hall Green Mosque on Wycome Road.
The family’s statement included a Qur’an verse: “To Allah we belong, and to Him we return.” They said his death left a big void and find peace knowing he lived a life of faith, showing kindness and service to others.
His work earned him respect and love, and the factory even closed for a day. He was a devoted husband, loving father, and doting grandfather, helping anyone in need and valuing generosity and compassion.
The mosque was important to him; he prayed there and cared for the community. Faith meant action to him, which included kindness and generosity. His joyful smile brightened every room.
He enjoyed DIY and gardening, and family time was important. He created a peaceful home and he took pride in his appearance, which showed self-respect and gratitude.
The family finds comfort knowing he is with Allah. They pray for his forgiveness and mercy and want to continue his legacy of love and service.
He was their rock and biggest supporter, and his legacy lives on in his wife, sons, and grandchildren. They promised to honor his memory and will live with kindness and love.
Police are questioning two men, 18 and 19 years old, suspected of causing death by dangerous driving.
