A family visit turned horrific when their dog suddenly attacked, leaving two hospitalized. A heroic mom saved her kids.

The attack occurred late at night, around 11:40 p.m. Emma and her kids often visited. Her two older kids slept on a sofa bed. Her youngest woke up and came to her; she sat in a gaming chair in the kitchen.
The dog became protective of Emma and growled when her son approached. Her father-in-law, Gary Hall, scolded the dog, who then bit Gary’s hand. Joanne White, Emma’s mother-in-law, questioned what happened.
Then, the dog attacked Gary’s leg. Emma quickly moved her kids to safety, wheeling them to the porch and shutting the door. She then called the police for help, as the dog was attacking Joanne on the floor.
Gary escaped upstairs to get away. Joanne jumped on the dog and tried to stop the attack. The dog thrashed her around on the floor. Emma felt helpless and called 999, her priority being her children’s safety.
Police arrived and spoke to Joanne, urging her to release the dog. She hesitated because she was scared it would attack again if she let go. She finally let go of the dog, and the police tasered it.
Despite being tasered, the dog still tried to attack her, prompting another tasering. It ran out the front door. Officers arrived through the back and spoke to Emma’s children. Emma said her kids are now traumatized.
Emma felt very upset and thought Joanne might die. Joanne had many bites from the dog, looking like she was stabbed. Joanne, 44, and Gary, 43, owned the dog, having rescued it about two months ago.
They thought it was a Staffy, but Emma now thinks it is a mixed breed dog. After the dog dies, experts will examine it to figure out its actual breed. Emma said the dog just suddenly changed.
It was a very awful thing to experience. Joanne got bitten many times on the arms and face, and Gary also needed treatment on his leg. Joanne went to the hospital and required further surgery.
Emma’s kids are okay, but shaken up. Her youngest thought his grandma had died. Emma felt scared, but also sad, because they liked the dog and believed it was good with children.
The dog got jealous of her son. Gary scolded the dog which then became aggressive and attacked. It didn’t stop after tasting blood, it just kept going. Emma believes her quick actions saved everyone.
Police gave an update. One injured person left the hospital, while the other remained there. The dog was killed, and they did not figure out what breed it was.
