Bad builders in Scotland caused problems. A gas engineer named Matthew Henvey messed up a boiler job, and Shazad Ali’s family went without heat for five months. His two young sons were affected; one son is disabled, and the other needs a kidney transplant. Ali paid Henvey £1,640 for the boiler.

The boiler had many issues, including faulty electrics and an unsupported flue. The boiler eventually broke completely, leaving the family unable to wash or stay warm. Henvey works for Glasgow Gas Services.

Earlier, Henvey also did another bad install, causing a dangerous gas leak for a woman named Kim Burns in Larkhall. Safety officials found problems with her system that Henvey failed to fix many times. He even used a hairdryer once.

A mom in Fife, Niki Caira, was very upset because a house got built very close to hers. She could knock on her neighbor’s door from her own bathroom window. She and her husband objected to the plans in 2020. Fife Council approved the building in June 2021, and construction started the next year.

Niki felt her family’s privacy went away. A Wishaw homeowner had a big bill of £4,600 to fix damage caused by cowboy builders who wrecked his driveway and then asked for money to fix it.

Robert Marsland was angry because a company called Premier Contracts broke a deal to monoblock his drive. They turned it into a dirt track. The rogue tradesmen caused the damage, ruining his dream driveway.
