Matt Saunders, owner of Queen of Bradgate, opens Queen of Hockley in Nottingham, featuring live music and craft beers.

The bar served many customers who enjoyed brunches and cocktails. However, the chain went into administration, leading to the closure.
Matt Saunders, owner of Queen of Bradgate in Leicester, is now opening a pub in Nottingham. He named it Queen of Hockley and it will be in the former Revolution space.
Saunders plans to open in April, with live music and craft beers on offer. He is excited about Hockley’s prime location and aims to open the pub before Easter.
They will serve high-quality food, with a menu similar to Leicester’s. A hearty Sunday roast will be available, with the Leicester head chef working in Nottingham.
Local beers like Hockley Helles will feature alongside classic beers like Camden Pale Ale. Pilsner and Peroni will also be on tap, with pints costing between £5.50 and £6.
A wide range of cocktails will be available during Happy Hour, daily from 5-8 pm, with a two-for-one deal. Cover bands will play on Fridays and live DJs on Saturdays.
A stage will showcase independent artists during the week. Saunders wants to get involved locally and is eager for Dot to Dot and Pride, as well as partaking in many other events.
Saunders founded the Fat Cat group in 1992 with his business partner, Simon Patterson. They served all-day food, which was uncommon at the time.
There were about twelve Fat Cat bars before the group went into administration in 2014. New owners took over the business, but the Fat Cat in Sherwood closed in 2017.
People remember the Fat Cat in Chapel Bar fondly. Queen of Hockley needs 20-30 staff and has both part-time and full-time jobs available. Opening dates will be announced soon, with more information available at queenofhockley.co.uk.
Other businesses welcome the pub. Kevin Wright, owner of Hockley Kitchen, thinks it will add flair to Hockley. The possibility of outside seating sounds good to him.
