Residents are furious as a fallen tree has blocked a Glasgow public path for weeks, limiting access.

The tree blocked a popular path, preventing people from using the Kelvin Walkway. This walkway is near North Kelvinside now. People want the council to remove it so they can regain access for walkers and bikers.
Someone even left a note on the tree, stating it’s the only car-free route, and it has been blocked for weeks. A local councillor knew, but it remains blocked.
The note also mentions safety concerns, referencing many pedestrians and cyclists who died last year. People think the council neglects them, and they feel roads take priority over safe paths.
After the storm, the council found many blocked trees, with twenty-three affecting the Kelvin Walkway from Maryhill to Kelvingrove Park. The council said removal is hard.
Some trees fell into the River Kelvin. One tree needs special equipment and dismantling high up a tree. The storm damaged about one thousand trees, and they’ve dealt with six hundred so far.
The council will hire someone soon. This contractor will handle the Kelvin Walkway trees, they will do the work very quickly, and they will begin as soon as possible.
