A local road might be dangerous, says a councillor. Julia Evans, a Green Party member, represents Radbrook. Residents told her about problems on Radbrook Road.

The roundabout has more near misses lately. This happened after new houses went up, and faded road markings make things worse.

Evans said people are scared about accidents. She wants the council to act quickly before someone gets hurt.

Traffic increased because of new houses, but the council didn’t improve road safety. Drivers don’t slow down at the roundabout, and its design is also causing problems. The roundabout sits far back from the road. A wall blocks the view of one exit, so drivers can’t see it until the last second.

Evans noted poor road maintenance and mentioned missing road markings. Budget cuts impact road safety, she thinks, and the “SLOW” sign is almost gone. Trees hide the speed warning sign.

The administration risks lives with bad roads. Immediately, fix the signs and repaint the road. She wants a 20 mph speed limit to protect everyone on that road. She believes the council must act fast, or something bad may happen.

Shropshire Council is checking the road and will respond after they investigate.
