The Duke of York in Exeter seeks permission to extend its hours until 2 30am on weekends, offering late-night food and music.

Craft Union Pub Company has requested a change to their license from Exeter City Council. The pub recently underwent a £90,000 makeover and reopened in May 2024.
The pub currently opens every day from 10 AM to 11 PM, except for Sundays when they close at 10 PM. They now wish to extend their hours, proposing a 10 AM to 1:30 AM closing time from Sunday to Thursday and 10 AM to 2:30 AM on Friday and Saturday.
According to a pub spokesperson, the pub is thriving and customers are keen to stay later. The goal is to cater to the desires of their patrons.
They also aim to incorporate rules agreed upon with the police, although details on those specific rules are not available. The license encompasses a range of activities, including alcohol sales between 11 AM and 1 AM on certain nights and until 2 AM on Friday and Saturday. It also permits dancing, live music, late-night food service, and the screening of sports events, with specific times varying depending on the day.
Public comments are welcome and must be submitted to the council by March 13. Written notes should be sent to the Licensing Department on Paris Street, Exeter, or via email to licensing.team@exeter.gov.uk.
