Old Everton-themed pub could become a 20-bed aparthotel with a bar and restaurant, revitalizing the Kirkdale location.

Now, there are new plans for the old pub. It could become a 20-bed aparthotel, along with a planned bar and restaurant. This would bring life back to the building, which once displayed pictures of players like Pickford and Coleman.
The building is in poor condition and has been empty since 2022. Before 2019, it housed the Old Griffin antiques shop, which then moved to Forge Street.
The building is located at the intersection of Derby Road and Bankhall Street on a major road. The ground floor is currently boarded up, covered in murals, and the north side is painted black.
Joseph Vaughan of Toffee Rooms Ltd. wants to change the building into a 20-bedroom aparthotel, capable of holding up to 49 guests. The bar and restaurant would be situated on the ground floor.
The hotel rooms would mostly be upstairs, with one room designed to be accessible. The bar and restaurant would have a separate entrance, allowing access for both guests and the public.
City council planners suggest approving the plans, noting that a bar and restaurant would benefit the area by creating jobs and providing a place for local workers. The plan also helps restore the building’s original use as a pub.
