A butcher shop in Essex called Colne Valley Butchers closed. It served Earls Colne for almost 50 years. Bloomingirls, a florist, shared the building and operated for about 14 years.

The building’s lease ended, and both businesses are now closed. Colne Valley Butchers was a family business selling meat retail and wholesale in Earls Colne.

Christabel Gray and Sally Frost ran Bloomingirls. They were both professional florists who used high-quality flowers. They wanted floral arrangements to last.

EssexLive spoke with Christabel in Earls Colne. She said floristry involves much hard work, and that they were part of families’ lives, providing flowers for many events.

Colne Valley Butchers posted on Facebook that the lease ended, and the property will be sold. Their last day was February 15, and they thanked everyone for their support.

Locals showed sadness online, commenting on the Facebook post. People stated they would miss the businesses, and some feel it is a big loss. Both businesses were contacted for comment.
