Concerns raised over Essex fire service response time after a woman died in an accidental house fire in Elmdon.

Councillor Neil Gregory spoke to Uttlesford Council and wants answers about the fire response. He noted concerns about response times and reported that the fire service has refused to answer him so far.
Gregory wants to know the response time details, including when the first crew arrived. If needed, he will contact the police and also mentioned the fire commissioner. The fire resulted in one death, and two other people went to the hospital.
John Maran offered his condolences to those affected by the fire. He suggested thanking the emergency workers who responded to the fire in Elmdon.
Essex Fire Service provided a statement, saying crews arrived quickly to the fire. The first fire engine arrived in 16 minutes, and they have shared information with Gregory. The fire service remains committed to transparency. They are open to discussing concerns and collaborate with the fire commissioner, including performance matters.
