A police officer was attacked in Erdington, on Orphanage Road. Three people are now in custody after police stopped a car connected to crimes.

The red Honda had fake license plates and was stolen during a Warwickshire burglary. It had run from police before and is tied to recent Birmingham crimes.

An 81-year-old woman was robbed, and a PCSO riding a bike was attacked. Additionally, someone robbed another woman, and a postman suffered an assault.

Erdington police mentioned the attack on X, stating that the officer was luckily not hurt. Traffic police chased the car, with dog units and a helicopter providing assistance.

The car also links to a handbag theft and the robbery of an 81-year-old on March 5th. There was an attempted robbery the same night, and the postman’s attack occurred on March 6th.

Police stopped the car after a short chase and arrested three people. They suspect them of robbery, assault, and driving offenses. The investigation continues.
