Explore the Elmswell Old Hall ruins in East Yorkshire on April 1st. A rare chance to visit this Grade II* listed building!

Elmswell Old Hall opens for one day only. That’s Tuesday, April 1, from 10:30 AM to 3:30 PM. The estate sits off the A166 near Driffield. It’s an important historical place.
You can walk through the Old Hall ruins that day. People think it’s one of the first brick buildings there. It gained a special status in 1998. It is now a Grade II* listed building. Very few buildings get this high status rating.
Only about five percent are at this level. The building dates back to around 1634. Henry Best built it then. But parts of the land are much older. Pieces can be traced back to William the Conqueror.
Road signs will show you the way. Parking will be provided too. The path from parking is bumpy. This path might be difficult for some. Please note dogs are not allowed.
