Someone in Edinburgh had a bad experience. She found some upsetting security camera footage. She now feels unsafe because of it.

The resident says a man entered her building in Edinburgh’s Lochend area. She thinks he tried to steal her bike then, around 10:58 PM on Sunday, March 9.

Security cameras filmed the man walking straight to her bike under the stairwell. The video shows him grabbing the chained bike and trying to break the lock.

Shortly after, an alarm went off because she equipped her bike with security to stop potential thieves. The man then left the building quickly, exiting in the same direction he entered.

The resident described the man as “scum” and said he tried to steal her bike. She also believes he might target other buildings.

She told Edinburgh Live she feels anxious now and does not feel safe in her home. Having lived in temporary housing for four years, she is worried he will return and fears further theft attempts.
