Essential tram line maintenance means service disruption in central Edinburgh. Alternative travel options will be available.

The closure starts early Friday, February 14. The line between West End and Balfour Street shuts down then. Normal tram service comes back Monday, February 17.
McDonald Road, Picardy Place, St Andrew Square, and Princes Street stops won’t be open. Trams will run with a changed schedule, affecting the airport to West End and Newhaven to Balfour Street routes.
Edinburgh Trams says they are working with the city to provide other transport choices. Tram tickets work on some buses and trains.
Marilena Papadopoulou works for Edinburgh Trams. She said this keeps the system running well, adding that they aim to help people move around the city during repairs.
Staff will help riders at key spots; ask them for travel help at stations. Allow a bit more travel time, they suggest, and they appreciate everyone’s patience during this time.
Lothian Buses (16, 25, 100) will take tram tickets. ScotRail trains between Haymarket and Waverley also will.
