Edinburgh RNLI crews responded to six incidents over one busy weekend, including people in the water and tide rescues.

Sunday’s first call came at 4:16 AM, marking their eighteenth call this year; the details were not disclosed. Another call arrived at 12:55 PM, reporting people in the water at Cramond Causeway. That second call was their nineteenth for 2025, demonstrating a busy start to the year.
The RNLI expressed gratitude to their team for their hard work. Volunteers experienced a difficult 48 hours, highlighting the importance of sleep.
The weekend began with four calls, occurring on February 28 and March 1. Friday involved a person trapped by the tide on Cramond Island. Saturday brought three calls.
One call concerned an incident at Granton Harbour. Another involved a missing person in Aberdour, and the last reported people in the water, again at Cramond Causeway.
The RNLI stated that rescuers searched and found everyone safely ashore. Remaining people were trapped by the tide; the Kinghorn Lifeboat transported them off the island. The RNLI praised the team’s dedicated efforts.
