A woman in Edinburgh got a surprise early that morning. An alert showed a man trying car doors on Marionville Drive. The time was 6:15 AM on Tuesday, February 11.

The footage showed a man wearing a grey hoodie and dark trousers. He also wore white trainers. He drank something near the driveway before walking toward two vehicles nervously.

He checked the door handles of a van and a Volkswagen car. Both were parked right in front of her house. The doors were locked, so he left the driveway.

The woman missed the alert at first, but by the time she checked, he was gone. She quickly contacted the police using 101, the non-emergency number.

She said they had never been targeted before, which made her feel uneasy. They plan to increase security now and she also appreciates her supportive community.

She feels reassured knowing neighbors watch out for each other. The police urged anyone with information to call 101. Police Scotland has been asked for a statement.
