High winds cause damage to buildings in Edinburgh, prompting responses from fire crews in Bruntsfield and West Coates areas.

The Met Office issued a wind warning, which lasted from 6 AM to 6 PM that day. A resident, Phil Harris, witnessed the event and noticed a missing chimney stack. Firefighters focused on that area and closed the pavement below for safety.
The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service addressed a roof issue at the scene. Afterwards, the fire crew left that location. Elsewhere, a roof section blew off in West Coates, and emergency services responded to that call too.
The fire service learned of the West Coates incident quickly, getting the call around 1:15 PM. A local resident warned others to stay away, and the road was closed so firefighters could work safely. High winds caused both incidents.
