Businesses in East Riding scammed by men demanding money for unsolicited repairs. Police seek public’s help.

Two men used a Ford Transit truck with totally fake license plates. They went to different businesses and did unasked road and path repairs, work the companies didn’t even know about.
Afterward, they asked for thousands of pounds, demanding payment from the companies. It’s a serious situation, right?
Police say the truck is noticeable. It’s a white Ford Transit Tipper with red on the doors and hood, plus some red and yellow stripes. They targeted Holme and other towns.
These guys did work without permission first, fixing roads and footpaths. Then, they demanded loads of cash, like a total surprise bill.
Cops describe the suspects simply: white men, late twenties to early thirties. They wore hoodies, caps, and masks; high-vis trousers completed the disguise.
So, if you see the truck, let the police know. Maybe you know these guys already. If they approach you, be very careful; don’t agree to repairs, don’t give them any money, and call 101 right now, mentioning log 495 from February 12th.
