East Yorkshire buses changed their schedules. They sent a letter to riders on February 14th.

The company faced difficulties recently, according to Stuart Fillingham, the Commercial and Operations Director. Spare parts were scarce, staffing was temporarily tight, and other outside factors also played a role.

Fillingham wants a better system for the future and experienced transport pros will aid the turnaround. They will assist in making the operations strong.

Some routes will have temporary changes from February 23rd. This will allow for more consistent bus service while they focus on improving operations.

Service 44 will have fewer trips, mainly evening ones. Service 45 will still run to the University, while services 43, X46, and X47 will run often, offering up to four buses per hour. Adding service 45, that’s six per hour, covering much of service 44’s old path.

Service 51 on Saturdays changes so buses now arrive about every 30 minutes during the day.

Services 56 and 57 change Saturdays too. They will run every 15 minutes between Bilton and Hull; Service 56 from Hull to Castle Hill is every 30 minutes, and Service 57 from Hull to Hessle also runs every 30 minutes.

Service 58 runs every 20 minutes Monday to Saturday during daytime.

A new Service 26 trip starts at 7:15 AM, going from Hessle to Castle Hill Hospital. The 3:53 PM trip shifts to 4:03 PM now, going from Castle Hill to Beverley.

The letter apologized for recent problems that impacted customers journeys. Fillingham knows riders depend on their buses and is sincerely sorry for any troubles.

He said spare parts were short, and staffing shortages also hurt service. He wants better ways of doing things and is fixing these issues now.

Experts will assist in creating better service, providing useful experience, according to him. They are hiring many new drivers with training underway to get them driving soon, also using agency drivers in the meantime.

He stressed these changes are temporary, and they seek to reinstate complete service soon.
