The East Midlands Mayor, Claire Ward, also has a budget. She’ll have £539,530 for the year. This covers staff, travel, and office costs. Ward earns £93,000, while Amy Harhoff, the chief executive, earns £185,000.

The authority’s building project funds rose to £226 million. It got £80 million more than last year from grants. They will start many projects across the region and have a total of £385 million to spend.

The authority will take over public transport soon. They get the job on October 1. They will get it from four local councils.

The authority receives £40 million for bus improvements. Half is for expenses, half for improvements. They’re also getting £66 million for travel projects. They’ll pick projects in March.

The councils divide the road money. Derbyshire gets £37.5 million, and Nottinghamshire receives £29.5 million. Derby and Nottingham each get £4.4 million. The funding is based on each council’s roads.

Councils can use £20 million for project planning. The Mayor spends £334,530 on employees, £100,000 on travel, £55,000 on supplies and services, and £50,000 on office space.
