East Lothian man’s Tesla was vandalized. He believes his car was targeted due to Elon Musk’s public stance.

Gary called the vandalism “evil” and believes it could relate to Elon Musk. His driveway camera didn’t record the crime, which he believes happened Friday night, February 14. Repairing the damage will cost a lot.
The scratch went all around the car. Gary posted about it in a Tesla UK Facebook group and called Tesla to ask about similar incidents. This man discovered the damage the next day.
Gary, who works in IT, said the camera usually records movement. He thinks someone targeted his Tesla, perhaps because they disliked Musk or Tesla. He says he didn’t do anything to provoke it, noting the scratches left a white mark.
He wishes people would talk to him instead of damaging his car. His Facebook post got 11,000 views, with some suggesting the vandalism related to Musk. His car has cameras, but they were off.
He kept the cameras off to save battery. He thinks the act was mean and wrong and that it should be highlighted. Only his car was targeted. He asked police about similar reports, but they couldn’t share information over the phone. Tesla also didn’t tell him much.
Gary tried to fix the scratch and is looking for repair help because he has to return the car soon as it’s part of a personal contract. Police received a report of vandalism that happened Saturday, February 15, in Wallyford, and they are investigating.
