Police responded after a report of youths with weapons near an East Kilbride school. No weapons were found.

Police confirmed they received a report of weapons and searched the area but found nothing illegal. Some parents reported that children were locked inside for safety; however, the council denies this claim. They stated that there were no violent acts at the school.
Anne Donaldson, who works for the South Lanarkshire Council, said they are aware of social media rumors connected to the school. The school and police are in communication regarding the matter. The council has stated they will support any investigation, and the school maintains that it is safe.
One parent claims that violence within the school is increasing, citing threats and attacks in the hallways. A video reportedly shows a girl attacking another in a hall, while other students filmed and laughed. A teacher attempted to intervene but struggled to stop the assault. The council has declined to comment on the video.
Another parent stated that fights happen frequently, and teachers often struggle to break them up. They feel the school has safety problems and believe a campus police officer is needed, as other schools in East Kilbride have them. This parent believes the school is not doing enough to stop violence and worries someone will get stabbed.
Police confirmed their presence at the school around 1:45 p.m. on February 13th. This followed the aforementioned weapons report resulting in a search, where nothing illegal was found.
