Hardwick Park in County Durham, visited by 450000 annually, will feature a unique, 14.5 meter play tower and upgraded play areas.

The park will add a huge, unique tower. It’s going in the redeveloped play area. This tower will be the only one like it here. At 14.5 meters, it’s quite tall.
The tower’s design will match the park’s older look. Architect James Paine designed that look in the 1700s. Only one other like exists in Europe. The other tower is near Stuttgart, in Germany.
The new structure has many fun things. There are rope climbs and a net bridge. Kids can enjoy slides and sensory stuff. A viewing spot shows off the park’s views.
The park is upgrading all its play areas too. A zip line and basket swing are coming. They will install hammocks and music items. An accessible roundabout is also planned.
A park leader says families love the park. They planned the new play space carefully. They want kids to play and learn outdoors. The tower should help them do that.
The park’s play area is now closed for work. Workers install the tower and playground items. The park should fully reopen in the spring.
