Hey, listen to this. A man died in his flat in Co Tyrone. He was in his 70s. Police found him hurt badly on the floor. This happened in Dungannon, in the Lisnahull area around 8 PM on Thursday.

Detectives started a murder investigation and are looking into what happened. The officer didn’t say why the attack occurred. The victim lived there for over 20 years. Police haven’t arrested anyone yet.

Superintendent Peter Stevenson gave an update indicating the man died after a serious assault inside his flat, which is in the Corrainey Park area of Dungannon. Responders found him injured in the living room.

Sadly, the man passed away soon after help arrived. The police are thinking of his family and friends as officers try to figure out what led to the attack. They ask anyone with information to speak with them.

Police assured the public that they are investigating thoroughly and asked people not to guess about what happened. There are still cordons in place, and locals will see more police around there. The community is shocked and sad.

Stevenson asked for anyone with details to contact the police, emphasizing that even small details could help a lot. Police were all over the area on Friday. Councillor Karol McQuade said the town is in disbelief and that the community feels shocked by the man’s death. Their thoughts go out to his family and friends.

People are worried that this happened in their town, and McQuade asked them to stay calm. He also asked people to respect the grieving family, to not spread rumors, and to give the police space to investigate.
