Dudley Zoo mourns the loss of Oba, a 24-year-old sealion, after recently announcing the death of Miguel the anteater.

Oba was a Patagonian sealion. He lived to be twenty-four years old. He was sick because of his age. The zoo made a hard choice.
They thought euthanasia was best for Oba. He was the last male Patagonian sealion in the UK. Oba arrived at the zoo ten years ago. He quickly became popular with visitors.
The zoo shared this sad news on Facebook. The Facebook post explains everything. Vets cared for Oba. His health got worse, and they decided to euthanize him. He arrived from Marineland in France.
People left comments about Oba. They remembered him fondly. He enjoyed the sunshine, said one commenter. Others remembered Oba fondly. He always made us laugh, someone wrote.
One person met and fed Oba. They said he was a lovely, gentle boy. The zoo is also grieving Miguel. Miguel was a giant anteater. He died suddenly at only one year old. News of Miguel’s death came out January 13. They planned an autopsy to find out why.
