Eleven ducks were rescued from an oily pond at Belle Eau Business Park. Rescuers cleaned and cared for the affected animals.

Mansfield Wildlife Rescue UK saw the problem first and called for help. Thick black oil coated the poor ducks. Half the pond was covered. The Environment Agency investigates the oil leak and is cleaning up the spill, too.
Daniel Holman and Keith Ellis, working with Warsop Wildlife Rescue volunteers, rescued seven ducks. Andy Bostock from RSPCA saved another duck the next day. Now, they saved three more ducks.
The rescuers took the ducks to Warsop Wildlife Rescue. Folks there gently washed the oil away. The ducks will stay until they are healthy, then they’ll return to their wild home. The charity watches for other affected animals and wants to rescue any more spill victims.
Holman appreciates the team effort in rescuing the ducks and feels relieved they caught most in time.
Glenn Slaney spoke for Warsop Wildlife Rescue and thanked Lineage, a logistics company. Lineage staff helped a lot by showing rescuers to the ducks, blocking off areas, and originally reporting it. They even rescued one duck and were very concerned and supportive.
