Two suspects are in custody following the fatal stabbing of a Nigerian migrant in Dublin. Arrests occurred in Dublin and Belfast.

Quaham Babatunde was fatally stabbed early Saturday morning in Dublin on South Anne Street. The victim, 34 years old, lived in a Dublin IPAS center and was a migrant from Nigeria.
Babatunde was stabbed by a masked person following a dispute between two groups after an Afroswing gig in Twenty Two. Police have arrested two men in relation to the stabbing.
One man, in his 20s, was arrested in Dublin following searches on Monday, February 17th. The other man was arrested in Belfast by the PSNI and is held at a police station there.
The post-mortem examination is complete, but they will not release the results now for operational reasons. Police ask witnesses to come forward and want to speak with anyone present on South Anne Street or Duke Lane Upper between 2:45 AM and 3:30 AM on Saturday, February 15th, 2025.
Police also want information about these events, especially mobile phone footage from those locations. Road users with camera footage, including dash-cam footage, should contact them. They seek footage from Dawson Street and St. Stephens Green within the relevant time frame.
