Dublin city café burgled over weekend recovers stolen laptop after chasing thieves.

It’s A Trap, a café, was robbed early Sunday. Thieves took the register and cash, as well as tips, a MacBook, and a camera. Various shop tools disappeared too. The café suffered a similar break-in last March when thieves broke a window and stole the till and valuables. Now, they recovered some stolen items.
The café shared an update on Instagram, saying they found some items in construction site skips, dumped as if they were worthless. The camera was scratched and covered in cement. Workers found some power tools nearby and kindly gave them back.
The register was damaged, almost unusable, but Square replaced it without charge. The café described how they retrieved the computer: they tracked it using the Find My app and found the thieves at Tivoli Square. They phoned the police to come help them.
However, police were slow, so the thieves left. The café followed them on bikes, giving police updates. Police caught them near Usher’s Quay, and the thieves had the computer.
A fundraiser raised €6,012 for the café. After fees, they got €5,389, which will pay for new security measures and replace stolen staff tips. This money also covers a shutter and repairs to a broken window. They’re adding more security cameras as well. The café appreciates the community’s support.
