Two guys got sentenced after police found them in Cardiff. Cops found them with four others in an apartment in Grangetown. This happened in September 2024. The police visit was a surprise, and people inside the flat looked panicked.

Layton Preece, age 51, and Dylan Young, age 21, were involved. Six men were in the flat, surrounded by drugs and related items. Officers suspected the flat was a crack den.

Their suspicion became a fact when someone seeking drugs knocked on the door. A uniformed officer stood there, and the person quickly left, shouting, “The shop’s shut!”

Officers seized over £4,000 of Class A drugs, including cocaine and crack cocaine.

Layton Preece, who doesn’t have a fixed address, admitted to possessing crack cocaine with the intent to supply it, and he was caught with it. Dylan Young also admitted guilt, acknowledging he wanted to supply crack cocaine too.

The court sentenced them on February 20 at Cardiff Crown Court. Preece got 42 months in jail, while Young received 18 months suspended for 21 months.
