Gang members involved in a large drug smuggling operation in the UK receive increased sentences after appeal.

The original sentences seemed too short, so they got longer now as Charles Dilworth’s sentence went up, and Jamie Menagh’s sentence also increased. Jon Fairclough will spend more time in jail now since David Hague’s sentence got a big increase.
The group imported over two tonnes of Class A drugs. The gang moved drugs from Europe using an empty trailer that went through the Eurotunnel between May and September 2023.
The drugs went to a farm in North Wales where they hid the drugs behind wood panels, and they were then sorted for sale. Buyers met the gang nearby.
The gang tried to hide the farm’s location and filled customer cars with drugs before giving the cars back. Police stopped them on September 20, 2023, bringing their drug business to an end.
A police inspector spoke about the case, saying that the gang was very organized as they brought cocaine into the UK. Police aim to remove drugs from the streets.
Drugs cause problems in communities and bring violence, she said. The court agreed the sentences needed to be longer, and the criminals will now spend more time in prison.
