A drug dealer who ran from police after arrest must pay back £5,000 or face more jail time.

Police stopped Daniel Williams, age 30, in Abercynon. He drove into a known drug dealing spot. Another man was also in the car. Police searched both men.
They found cocaine and £170 in Williams’ wallet. They found cannabis inside the car. Police later found £4,646 at his home. Williams was put in a police car. Then, he opened the door.
He ran toward Abercynon Rugby Club. Officers chased him but lost him. A large search began. It included a helicopter and police dogs. They still could not find Williams.
He turned himself in four hours later. His phone showed he dealt drugs a lot. He admitted the drugs were his. He admitted running from the police, citing an aggressive officer. His mother convinced him to surrender.
Williams admitted to drug possession and escape. He got a suspended sentence of 20 months. He also got requirements for treatment. These included alcohol and mental health care. A court heard Williams made £10,319 from crime.
He only had £5,047 in assets. The judge ordered him to pay that amount. Failure means three more months in jail.
