Ian Morris, 71, died after Lisa Waugh hit him while cycling. Waugh was using Snapchat on her phone while driving.

Ian had two children and four grandkids. He wore bright green and had a light. Waugh, 31, still hit him from behind because she was busy on her phone. His wife, Pauline, misses him terribly.
She said he meant everything to her, emphasizing that he was her best friend and loving partner. He brought joy to her life. He was always planning fun surprises and loved his sons and their wives. He adored his four grandchildren too.
Waugh worked for the British Army then, leaving Alanbrooke Barracks around 2 PM. Morris was cycling when Waugh hit his bike. Shortly after, someone called 999 around 2:24 PM, reporting the accident and the collision.
Investigators checked Waugh’s phone records. She used it a lot before the crash, locking and unlocking it ten times. She sent 13 Facebook messages and six Snapchat messages. There were 34 messages overall during that time.
Her phone locked at 2:24 PM, and Instagram was open on the screen. Police said Waugh claimed she didn’t see Morris and that he swerved in front of her. However, witnesses said that wasn’t true. They stated Morris was riding normally.
He wore bright green and had a red light. They saw Waugh’s car move towards Morris. Waugh admitted to causing death by dangerous driving, further admitting to using her phone at the time of the incident.
Waugh got a six-year, eight-month prison sentence on February 7 after pleading guilty in court. She is banned from driving for five and a half years. She must retake a driving test later after her release from prison.
