Saltash drivers face fines for disobeying the ‘no right turn’ rule at a notorious junction, part of a traffic trial.

The change is part of a six-month traffic trial. They hope to ease up traffic jams around there. But some drivers ignore it, turning right despite signs and barriers.
Police recently posted a warning on Facebook: the “no right turn” rule is the law. Ignore it, and they might prosecute you. Report violations with dashcam footage, submitting clips to Operation Snap, which investigates traffic offenses.
This trial aims to ease traffic from retail areas and industry. A traffic regulation order exists, so obey it. Disobeying risks fines and license points. Moreover, it slows everyone down and defeats the trial’s purpose.
Locals complained a lot since 2019 when the Gilston Road retail park opened. Traffic increased, causing problems. So, the council started the trial on January 28th, restricting right turns from Gilston Road to Callington Road.
Now, drivers go toward the Pillmere roundabout. Signs advise traffic to use Burraton Road. If you are heading to the A38 west, take that route. Remember these points.
