Outcry as driver responsible for deaths of two soldiers is set for early release due to prison overcrowding.

The crash happened near their Army base. A fellow soldier, Bradley Clough, drove the car. He lost control, and the car hit a tree. Jack and Courtney were passengers. The car was overcrowded and unsafe. They were not wearing seatbelts.
Clough received a three-year jail sentence for causing death by careless driving. The court ordered a minimum of 18 months. He is now being released early. The Ministry of Justice says prisons are full. Clough will be freed four months early.
Jack’s parents are very upset. They feel the system failed them and they fought against Clough’s early release. The parents said Clough lied in court and CCTV proved his story was false. They visit Jack and Courtney’s grave often. They feel justice is denied.
His parents were told he would serve more time. The news of early release is devastating and they feel like they are failing Jack and Courtney. The parents feel unprotected by the system. All the focus seemed to be on Clough. They are very upset by the early release.
The Ministry of Justice explained the situation by stating prisons are overcrowded and need space. This led to the early release decision.
