Lee Cotton’s motorhome was damaged by potholes in North Staffordshire. He urges MP Adam Jogee for road repairs.

Lee was driving to Bakewell from Knutton. Potholes caused serious damage to Lee’s vehicle. Its suspension bottomed out from the impact. Things fell off the shelves, and the smoke detector even broke.
Lee described hitting many potholes near the Winking Man pub. He bought the motorhome for his later years. The bumpy ride really shook it up.
One pothole was enormous, almost a meter wide. His wife slowed down because the road was bad. He worried about causing an accident and swerving could have been very risky.
Avoiding potholes makes driving dangerous. People focus on the road’s surface instead. This keeps their minds off of other cars and makes it harder to see any people nearby.
Newer cars often have low profile tires. These tires offer little protection. Hitting potholes can damage wheels and tires, leading to a disaster. His son’s car got damaged near Keele last year.
Lee complained to Adam Jogee, his local MP. He wants roads fixed this year. He hopes to avoid similar problems next winter.
MP Adam Jogee blamed the Tory-run County Council. He receives many pothole complaints from residents. Roads need maintenance, he stated. Jogee wants details on pothole repair funds and wants better and safer roads now. He knows more action is needed.
Jogee supports Mr. Cotton’s effort to raise the concern. He will talk to the relevant minister about this issue. He has also requested urgent action from the council.
The County Council asks the Government for more road funds. They recognize fixing potholes is important.
Councillor Mark Deaville spoke about road funding. They invested extra cash for road improvements last year. They repaired almost 30,000 potholes.
The funding from the government is appreciated. Yet, even more money is needed to truly fix roads. They will keep pushing for funds, and they’re working hard using their available budget.
