Car cruising reported in Leicestershire. Police responded after residents complained, finding no vehicles upon arrival.

The racing happened on the A453 at Castle Donington, with officers estimating 40 to 50 cars took part. Hinckley Police had expected over 500 cars, as they shared on their Facebook page. The meet was supposed to be near Hinckley and Blaby.
Inspector Mat Allingham, who leads policing in Hinckley and Blaby, said that they are targeting street racing and considers the issue very dangerous to road users. He had warned drivers about the consequences, and Operation Flux tried to prevent meets.
Hinckley Police talked about the A453 race on Sunday, February 9, feeling residents should have had a peaceful night. Operation Flux detoured the cars, and police went to North Leicestershire to stop them.
Earlier in February, Inspector Allingham gave a warning. Drivers in illegal races could have cars seized. A Public Space Protection Order exists for Castle Donington, addressing issues that affect the community.
A Leicestershire Police spokesperson gave information related to the A453 car racing at 12:50 AM on Sunday, February 9. They said 40 to 50 vehicles were racing.
When police arrived, no vehicles were found. Officers from the NPA are looking into it and started further inquiries on Monday, February 10, as they gather more information.
