Dorset Council wants to prevent fires and illegal camping. They suggest new rules called PSPOs. These rules aim to stop problems and protect nature.

One rule covers open land, especially heathland. You can’t drop anything that could start a fire. Lighting fires or using barbeques becomes illegal. This helps prevent danger and habitat damage.

Another rule focuses on Studland Beach. Camping there without permission would be an offense, and leaving when asked is also required. This rule addresses noise and litter issues.

Current rules expire in June. The council will likely extend them for three years. Now, they are asking for public feedback on these new rules and will decide later this year.

Gill Taylor said these orders protect landscapes and mentions resident and visitor safety. Similar orders have been working for three years.

The council wants to hear your thoughts. They will consider views when making the orders later in the year. You should review the suggestions and give your opinion.
