A dog died after it fell from a cliff. The incident happened in Bridlington, and rescuers tried hard to save the dog.

On Saturday, the Coastguard received a call reporting a dog over a cliff near Sewerby Cricket Club. Teams from Bridlington and Filey responded to the call.

The dog was 15 feet down on a ledge about to crumble. The team started setting up ropes for rescue. Sadly, the dog moved just before rescue and went out of sight quickly.

The technician went down with ropes and continued down the steep chalk cliffs. They then found the dog at the bottom. Its fall caused fatal injuries, and sadly, the dog did not survive.

The Coastguard posted about this on Facebook and stated the incident occurred on Saturday, February 8th, near Sewerby Cricket Club. The team found the dog on a shaky ledge, 15 feet down, and the ledge crumbled as they prepared for a rescue.

They created a rope system quickly, but the dog moved before they could reach it and disappeared from the safety officer’s view. The technician went down to the ledge and then continued down the steep cliffs. Sadly, the dog had died from the fall injuries.

This outcome is heartbreaking for everyone involved. The owners and team did their best, but a positive result was not possible. This marks the third dog death this year for the team.

They urge people to keep dogs on leads, especially near cliffs. Remember to be respectful in comments online, as accidents happen to anyone. Call 999 and ask for the Coastguard in an emergency.
