Paramedics tried to help the 19-year-old woman, but she died there. Police have told her family.
Police arrested two people, a man, and a woman, both in their 20s. They are suspected of having a dangerously out-of-control dog, which caused death, and may have had a banned dog breed. They are still in custody.
Police sedated and took the dog. Vets will now examine the dog, which might be an XL Bully. Police will confirm the breed.
A witness saw officers and a helicopter around 9:30 PM on Wednesday. The road closed and stayed shut until Thursday morning, reopening later that morning.
