Emma Dean spoke about a dog attack that happened on February 15th. Her in-laws owned the dog, which attacked Joanne White and Gary Hall. Joanne needed surgery after the attack.

Emma said the dog, Bruno, “saw red” when he attacked Joanne and Gary. She saved her children, who were staying at Joanne and Gary’s house and sleeping on a sofa bed.

Joanne got many bites on her arms and face, while Gary had a leg injury. Emma’s kids were shaken but unharmed; the youngest thought his nan was dead. Bruno seemed to want to kill someone.

Emma said they loved Bruno and saw no prior signs of aggression. Joanne and Gary got Bruno online, thinking he was a Staffordshire bull terrier. He was four years old.

The online ad said Bruno was friendly and loved cuddles. Emma said Bruno was great at first and cuddled with the family. Videos showed Bruno with the kids.

Emma said Bruno liked kids and strangers, and he was generally not violent. They do not understand what happened, as Bruno suddenly “turned” on Saturday night and attacked the family “unprovoked.”

Emma thinks Bruno got jealous because her son sat on her knee, and Gary told the dog off. Bruno reacted strongly, according to Emma, ignoring her commands and continuing the attack.

Emma feels grateful she was present and thinks her quick thinking saved everyone. She also felt sad because they loved Bruno and had him for only eight weeks.

They believed he was a Staffie mix, and a post-mortem will confirm the dog’s breed. The attack devastated the whole family and completely changed their lives.
